Abstract

This diploma thesis aims at presenting an interactive application in an android environment, which is related to e-emergency-health. The application allows a mobile phone user who has an Android operating system to "call for help" in emergency situations. Then through a network connected to the clinic application, it reaches the patient-user the ambulance nearest to him. At the same time, a Business Plan of a start-up business with the features of this application will be presented. The reasons that lead this application to the creation of a new business are its usefulness and necessity in the Greek market, as there is a problem in the health sector, especially in the case when extraordinary incidents call an ambulance to transfer them directly to health centers and hospitals. The purpose of this dissertation is to reduce the problem that occurs when a patient calls an ambulance, that is to say the long waiting for both telephone lines to call the ambulance and the emergency ambulance itself. The application achieves this goal in the first instance, simplifying the procedure for declaring the emergency by pressing a button and at a second stage, which is most important, by reducing the waiting time of the ambulance arrival after calling the closest available clinic.
