Due to the increasing production of waste, it has become imperative to take measures for proper management at local and even international level. In the light of this problem integrated urban waste management plans have been developed and the corresponding legislative framework has been defined. The purpose of the programs is to minimize the amount of solid waste that results in the landfill, which is achieved through sorting, processing and recycling.
This study examines the treatment of organic fraction of municipal solid waste through composting. The aim is to properly manage the SMAs of the Municipality of Nemea in order to reduce the amount of landfill waste, which creates social, economic and environmental benefits. Along with the processing of the produced organic fraction, produce a high quality finished product, compost.
