This thesis studied the Process-oriented e-learning systems which are based on workflow technology. Initially, reference is made to the shape and feature of e-Learning, as well as in open learning material description standards and the needs they cover. Additionally, are presented the various features and potential of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to be compared with the procedure based Process-oriented e-learning systems. Also, reference is being made to the way in which the past improve the educational process. Finally, a Process-oriented e-learning system is implemented to be used to secondary education, and more specifically, to aid the teaching procedure of Physics in High School. The objective of this system is to support individualized learning in teaching this course, enabling pupils separation according to their Group of choice (humanitarian or applied sciences), and leading them into following different learning activities, according to their own personal way of learning. Thus, students of humanitarian studies are being led to research, presentation material and aitiologigis excercises, while those of applied sciences follow experimentation activities and problem solving through simulations. Finaly, students are evaluated based on the test standard analytical program, the system recognizes the way in which the examinees have weaknesses and extra attention is given to the sector in which they are lagging behind.
