Monitoring and evaluation of student’s learning process, are two major parts in any well formed educational procedure. Through these parts, educators receive valuable information concerning the course resources, as well as the didactical approach used for implementation of their instructional design. Students also benefit from these parts, as they make their own assessment of their learning process, and they come aware of their capabilities and weaknesses, acquiring valuable feedback that helps them to form their self-awareness and to control their self-regulation. To make these parts more comprehensible, educators should present distinct and meticulous evaluation criteria to their students, according to their educational requirements and expected outcomes. In this thesis a new tool is presented, designed and created in order to evaluate students educational outcomes, through monitoring their learning progress in a distinguished learning management system such as Moodle. This tool uses enriched rubrics, that contain criteria based on interaction analysis indicators. These indicators are customized by the educators, in order to assess student’s educational outcomes, as well as their participation during the learning process. The tool produces the appropriate learning analytics, which are retrieved from the system’s log files, and estimates the corresponding evaluation indicators, that are used for automatically assessing students performance.
