Information system support teacher's office : case management meeting
The scope of this thesis was the development of a web information system to serve the students of the Informatics Department of University of Piraeus. It concerns the undergraduates and postgraduates students of the department and has the ability to provide them a complete set of services, some of which hitherto only available through the secretariat of the department or individual requests after a meeting between the students and teachers. In addition we present some new ones services for the department. Specifically, there is a contact form, with which the students can communicate with professors. Another service of our system is about appointments. Through this, the professor can set the hours and days that he will accept students, so students will book appointments with the professor they want, selecting topic, hour and day. In this way, teachers will have a complete picture of the program of meetings and also this facilitates the students. This thesis constitutes a first complete attempt to create a system that will provide all the services mentioned above. The subtractive method used to achieve that, which has results of a great parameterization of the system, makes it as an excellent basis for creating other such systems, but also as a guide for further development.
