This thesis concerns the study of the procedures for contract management and procurement under the PMI® standard for project management. It presents analytically the procedures in procurement from the planning stage up to completion. The registration of procedures is in accordance with PMBOK® Guide and analyzes how to plan the resources required for the contract, how to obtain them, the way to manage them and ultimately how the close of the procurement will be done and consequently how the contract is signed in general. The registration of procedures of the standard aims to enable its review of procedures under the current law governing the Public Administration for procurement and awarded contracts in order to identify potentials, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in implementing public procurement procedures. Subsequently the existing procedures under the current legislative framework for public sector procurement are reflected proportionally in comparison with these processes according to the PMI® standard. Separate reference is made in three specific cases that are consistent in the way they manage their procedures from the beginning to the end of the procurement in accordance with the aforementioned standard.
