The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance that information systems have in the modern era and the dimensions that can acquire a business application. The following text presents the theoretical benefits from the introduction of an information system in a business, as well as presents, simulates and evaluates the information system called "WFS", both "front-end", and the "back-end". What we achieve through this system is to automate management processes flows (Work Flow Management) for a dairy company by using portal technologies. As a result we manage to improve customer service, collaboration and instant information. Through the development of "custom-build" additional, we tried to utilize many modern programming frameworks exists to achieve the automation of several processes and management flow operations. The "Portal Web Site" which we built and named "WFS" comes as a response to changing business conditions of organizations providing flow management and continuous pressures of the business environment. The first part consists of a description of the role of information systems, their main categories, as well as the principles and activities of a logistics system. The second part of the paper presents the "WFS" information system, highlighting its key points. Also we run scenario based simulations and evaluate the system through specialized tools and techniques.
