Game-based learning: αξιολόγηση του playability σε παιχνίδι τύπου Monopoly
The goal of this Master Thesis is to study Game Based Learning (GBL) basic components and implement them in an educational environment, so as to improve students’ academic performance and engagement. Also, the theory of Constructivism is analyzed in order to acquire a deep knowledge of it. Last but not least, we analyzed the subject of Playability and its important role for the design of educational games. Therefore, the goal of this thesis is to design an educational game based on board game Monopoly. The main difference of it is on cards. The educational cards are designed with the intention of replacing the exercises of the educational book From the results we found out that learners had fun playing and learning, while the high-quality content of the game has made participants say they want to play the game again and replace other lessons of the same class with it.
