This postgraduate dissertation aims to study and model a first version of an operating information system for managing payment and pricing orders. This system is going to be used by an energy consultants company («company»). The target of this specific system is to make the ordering and pricing procedures easier, speedier and more accurate. The «company» follows a communication protocol in order to implement and complete its projects. Firstly, the «customer» asks the «company» for a design project. Then, the company organizes and suggests a first pricing for this specific project. In case of customer’s acceptance, the «company» starts immediately the execution of the project. The parts that cannot be executed are assigned to subcontractor(s). A completely electronic data management, from the first suggestion to the completion, is of vital importance. In this way, possible mistakes are controlled and misunderstandings or delays are avoided. In addition, the wasted working hours for the specific procedures are reduced. An important fact is that all the operators of the projects are updated at the same time for any development in the process. Filling the suitable web pages, all the data of the external operators (customers, contractors, subcontractors, etc.) are imported automatically into a database. In this method, the accounting sheets are printed directly and are available for any interested partner and for anybody who has the appropriate access credentials (customers, subcontractors, inspectors etc.). The extensions and control of the projects, which are going to be implemented, are important, due to the fact that the application can control any project activity through the Internet. According to the above mentioned abilities, the «company» outmatches its competitors. Moreover, incorporating new technological capabilities, such an electronic system is able to be easily updated in the future. These capabilities will cover future services, which will probably appear.
