This dissertation’s purpose is to deal with the concept of talent in the business world and more specifically with the talent management in organizations. It is examined the process which is initially followed to identify talent and then, take the necessary action to make the best use of it. The aim is to understand the functioning of talents in business and the value they have in the strategic management with the ultimate goal of maximizing their performance, thus creating a competitive advantage for the organization. Another important aspect which is presented and analyzed in this thesis is how firms match talents to the proper job posts, thus increasing business performance. It is also described the process of developing and retaining talents, as well as the lack of them, depending on the interests and goals of the companies. Further, an analysis is performed on the benefits that talents need to obtain in order to exhibit commitment and dedication to the business, while avoiding brain drain, in order to find better resources and better working conditions. The impact of talents on customer service is also observed, as businesses are now focused on customer-centric markets. Finally, a summary of the literature review is presented in combination with the analysis of the findings of the empirical research, which was carried out for the completion of the present work. The present work hopes to help in the understanding of some strategies related to the management of talents in enterprises.
