The purpose of this Diploma Thesis is to Innovation and Foreign Direct Investment. Its aim is to see how these two forces coexist in the economic environment, ie whether the development of innovation will favor the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment or whether the development of Foreign Direct Investment has an impact on the development of innovation. First of all, this diploma thesis will provide an extensive reference to the two main factors of the topic as well as other factors such as technology and R & D. Initially, we will refer to innovation and look at it from a variety of perspectives, we will refer to the determinants of innovation, how it affects, how innovation is measured, and others. We will then analyze Foreign Direct Investment with a heavy tax burden because it appears to have the greatest impact on the development of Foreign Direct Investment, we will also refer to the other factors that affect Foreign Direct Investment. In addition, reference will be made to tax havens. An empirical analysis will then be carried out using the GRETL econometric program which will consist of 18 variables and the control we will do will have a time frame of 21 years (1995-2016). The figures will be in the form of panel data Data). In the end, these results will be interpreted and will be completed by recording the conclusions that have resulted from this research.
