Summer camp is considered to be an institution with a distinctive educational, social and entrepreneurial character. During the recent years camp has managed to receive general acclaim from the society. This specific fact points out the need of even better performing camp counselors In order to further develop them, more content – specific training is needed. So with this in mind, this particular thesis aims to elaborate a system of camp counselor’s training and evaluation concerning Greece. The main study design includes the creation and actualization of a training program based on experiential and cooperative learning guidelines supported also by a 360o evaluation model especially created for this thesis. The study took place in a kid’s summer camp and lasted for 7 months. All the participants were the summer camp’s 234 employees. Data regarding evaluation ratings, training performance and various employee characteristics were collected and analyzed in SPSS statistics. According to the findings of the study, job performance is positively affected by training. Taking everything into account this study may be able to enhance employee training and evaluation processes not only in the specific studied camp but also other in similar Greek summer camps.
