Attack transient detection algorithm analysis and its implementation using a modeled waveform synthesis software
Attack transient’s importance in defining the identity of a musical instrument and its timbre, has been a subject of interest for many studiers. One of the implementations of the above theory can be found in “Sample and Synthesis”, a method of waveform synthesis that played an important role in the commercial success of many synthesizers. In the following study, there is an extensive description of Attack Transient as an event. Moreover, there is analysis and implementation of an attack transient detection algorithm in Matlab. The study also includes a description of “S&S” and the use of the implemented algorithm in the modeled waveform synthesis software, “Modeled Linear Arithmetic Synthesis”.
